On November 27, 2020, my country's independent third-generation nuclear power plant "Hualong No. 1" was successfully connected to the grid for the world's first reactor. As a leader in the domestic automated welding industry, it is an honor for "Huaheng" to also participate in the construction of "Hualong No. 1".

Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 5 is China's independently innovative third-generation nuclear power technology, the first demonstration project of "Hualong No. 1". All core components are made intelligently in China, breaking the monopoly of foreign nuclear power technology. It is the third-generation nuclear power technology with completely independent intellectual property rights in my country, marking my country's official entry into the ranks of advanced countries in nuclear power technology.

The control rod drive mechanism sealing shell assembly of "Hualong No. 1" is the primary circuit pressure boundary of the nuclear reactor, the first-level component of nuclear safety, the working space is poorly accessible and radioactive, etc., all of which put forward many special requirements for cutting and welding machines .

OMEGA welding/cutting equipment is the key core processing equipment for the control rod drive mechanism. Among them, the Ω seal ring weld is a special seal weld with a shape similar to the "Ω" shape set to reduce welding deformation. On October 14, 2018, the welding of the middle seal ring of the control rod drive mechanism of Fuqing Nuclear Power No. 5 unit was successfully completed. . Weld non-destructive testing, hydraulic test all qualified. Welding qualification rate reaches 100%. The welding construction period is only 39 days, which is the best result with the best quality and the shortest construction period since the construction of Units 1-5. The successful completion of the project work has laid a good foundation for the successful realization of major nodes such as the subsequent on-site installation of the top cover, pressure vessel cover closure, and cold test.

In January 2020, the world's first "Hualong No. 1" reactor, the CNNC Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit No. 5, was put into commercial operation. "Hualong No. 1" has now begun to be built in batches at home and abroad.
